FAQs
What is the single most important step for putting on any tight latex garment, and what should I absolutely avoid?
The single most important step is generous and even application of silicone dressing aid (or shiner) to the skin and the garment's interior. You must absolutely avoid using fingernails or jewelry to pull or adjust the material, as this causes immediate tears and punctures.
What should I use to achieve the signature high-gloss shine, and how is it different from the dressing aid?
The high-gloss shine is achieved using a silicone-based latex polish or shiner applied after the garment is fully on. The dressing aid (used for putting the garment on) is a lubricant, while the shiner (applied externally) is a cosmetic polish. Never use oil-based products like baby oil or petroleum jelly, which will chemically degrade the latex.
What is the correct way to clean and dry latex clothing after wear?
Hand-wash immediately in a bath of lukewarm water with specialized latex cleaner. Gently rub the inside to remove body oils/sweat. Rinse thoroughly with clean water until there are no suds left. Air-dry completely in a dark, well-ventilated space. Never machine wash, use common detergents, or dry in direct sunlight.
How should latex clothing be stored long-term to prevent damage?
Ensure the garment is completely dry and lightly powdered (or polished) before storage. Store in a cool, dark, and dry place in an opaque garment bag or storage box. Crucially, keep the latex away from all metals (which cause permanent stains) and UV/sunlight
